Sorting in Notion: A Quick Overview
Sorting in Notion helps you organize your content, whether it's a list of tasks, a collection of notes, or a database of contacts. Here's how to do it:
Accessing Sort Options
Navigate to the database you want to sort.
Click on the ... (three dots) in the top-right corner.
Select Sort from the dropdown menu.
Choosing Sort Criteria
Choose the property you want to sort by, such as 'Name', 'Date', or 'Priority'.
Decide on the sort direction: Ascending or Descending.
Multiple Sorting Layers
You can add multiple sorting layers to prioritize one property over another.
For instance, you can sort by 'Priority' and then by 'Date'.
Removing Sort Criteria
- To remove a sort criterion, click the x icon next to the property name in the Sort menu.
Things to Note
Sorting changes are automatically saved and applied every time you access the database.
You can always revert to the original order by removing all criteria.
